Hello!
My name is Philipp, I am German and play French bagpipes in G and A, violin and (learning) hurdy gurdy.
I have a specific style of music in mind, “modern traditional music”. For this, I am looking for a bass player and/or a guitar player.
Some examples of bands/tunes I have in mind:
- Tantz 454 from Dahlhoff collection (18th century)
- Breabach’s Knees Up
- Zirp La Toupie (Hurdy Gurdy)
- Nigel Eaton’s Indoor Tree (Hurdy Gurdy solo)
I will be at CERN until March 2025. So far, I have been playing in the Geneva bal folk scene and went to traditional music festivals like Le Son Continu but would like to try something less traditional also in the area. Here is a video with me on violin from almost 10 years ago when I used to play violin in a Rembetiko/Klezmer band.
